Top Ten Tuesday is a super fun weekly event hosted by the amazing blog The Broke and the Bookish where each week they post a new Top Ten list!
Today’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt is Books I’m Thankful For!
Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling:
After all this time? Always. Harry Potter is and will always be my favorite series of all time. I grew up with these books, and continue to love and obsess over everything about them.
The Lord of The Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien:
This was the series that introduced me to nerd culture in a real way. I read them when I was in 6-8 grade, and found people online who were also obsessed and that honestly changed everything.
East of Eden by John Steinbeck:
This is a book that changed the way I thought about books. It is heartbreaking and incredible and everyone should read it.
Wuthering Heights, Emily Bronte:
The book the inspired my love of early British books and paved the way for my future in grad school studying 18th and 19th century British literature.
Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston:
One of the most beautiful books I have ever read. I’ve reread this book at least 5 or 6 times. ❤
Pamela by Samuel Richardson:
The book that taught me that writing about literature is about so much more than the words on the page
A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas:
While I find this series incredibly problematic, I found this books while going through an extremely hard time dealing with depression and anxiety and they honestly got me through. To be able to escape into this world was one of the few things helping me wake up in the mornings.
Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen:
My favorite of my favorites author’s novels.
Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf:
Another book that I endlessly reread and that changed the way I thought about books and what they could do.
Song of Solomon by Toni Morison:
Everything Toni Morrison writes is incredible, but this book is so beyond beautiful.
There are so so so many more books that I am thankful for, but these are a few of the top ones! What are some books that you are thankful for?
Harry Potter ♡♡♡♡♡♡ I have him on my TTT list too 😀

Oh my god, I LOOOOOOVE East of Eden!!! Now that I’m here, I’m actually super upset I didn’t think to put it on my list!! Such an amazing book. You’re right, everyone should read it! Wuthering Heights is amazing too. I decided to go with the other Bronte sister for my list though! 😂

Love seeing The Lord of The Rings on this list. Those books were my childhood bedtime stories, and I loved them. I’ve not actually read the books since then so maybe I should pick them up in the near future.

Incredible list! I love so many of your selections. I feel like I haven’t seen nearly enough of TLOTR on people’s lists this week so I did a little happy dance when I saw it on yours. And East of Eden. And, of course, Harry Potter.
